How does an individual lesson go?
Getting to know you and discussing your goals: During the first lesson, the teacher will find out what your level of training is, what techniques you are interested in and what exactly you want to create. This could be a basic introduction to clay, learning a specific technique or working on an original project.
Choosing a technique and materials. Depending on your preferences, you can choose one of the methods: Hand molding – molding without a potter’s wheel, creating decorative elements, textures and unusual shapes. Working on a potter’s wheel – mastering the technique of centering, forming symmetrical products. Combined techniques – combining hand molding and working on a wheel. Decorating and glazing – learning how to apply patterns, reliefs, and glaze.
The process of creation. Under the guidance of a master, you will begin working with clay, mastering the chosen technique. The teacher helps, corrects, explains the nuances and gives useful advice so that your product turns out exactly as you intended.
Drying and preparation for firing: After forming, the product goes through a drying stage, and then firing in a special oven to become durable and ready for use.
Final processing and glazing: If desired, you can take an additional lesson on glazing to give the product color, shine or a special texture.
