Our History

The Mitosh Pottery Studio was born from the desire to create a space where people could not only learn to work with clay, but also find inspiration, relax their souls and reveal their creative potential.

It all started with a love for the craft and art of ceramics. The founders of our studio studied traditional and modern pottery techniques for a long time, traveled around India, meeting masters, absorbing the culture of working with clay - from ancient sculpting methods to unique authorial approaches.

We saw that ceramics is not only art, but also meditation, a way to slow down in the modern rhythm of life, feel the moment and create something with your own hands. It was with this idea that Mitosh was born - a studio where everyone, regardless of experience, can touch the ancient craft and feel the magic of clay.

From the first days of work, our goal is not just to teach, but to make the creative process accessible, understandable and inspiring. We have assembled a team of talented craftsmen, created a cozy space and developed programs for everyone - from beginners to professionals.

Today, our studio is a place where people come not only for knowledge, but also for the atmosphere, a sense of freedom and joy from the process. We are proud that our students create their first ceramic products, discover new talents in themselves and find something special for themselves in this art.

We continue to grow, develop and inspire. Come to Mitosh – create, learn, enjoy the process and create unique things with your own hands!

Full cycle of ceramics creation

At Mitosh we offer not just pottery classes, but a full creative process that allows you to go through the entire process of working with clay - from the first forms to the final firing and glazing. Our classes will help you not only master the basic techniques, but also gain a deeper understanding of how ceramics are born and how to make your products durable, functional and aesthetic.

Stage 1: Preparing and working with clay. Before you start sculpting, it is important to get to know the material. We talk about the properties of clay, its varieties and how to prepare it for work. The main types of clay and their features: Preparing the material: kneading, moistening, removing air bubbles. Working with tools and creating basic forms.

Stage 2: Sculpting - birth of the form: At this stage, the most interesting part begins - creating the form of the future product. Depending on the chosen method of work, you can try: Manual sculpting - creating products without using a potter's wheel (plates, vases, decorative elements). Working on a potter's wheel - mastering the technique of centering and forming symmetrical forms. Combined techniques - combining different methods to create unique objects.

Stage 3: Drying and first processing: After the product is created, it must be properly dried. This process requires patience, as the clay must dry evenly to avoid cracking and warping. How to dry ceramics correctly: Primary grinding and surface treatment before firing.

Stage 4: First firing (biscuit firing): After drying, the pieces undergo the first (biscuit) firing in a kiln at a temperature of 900–1000°C. This stage makes the clay hard but porous, ready for glaze application.

Stage 5: Glazing – adding color and texture: This stage gives the ceramics color, texture, and a protective coating. Glaze not only decorates the piece, but also makes it waterproof and safe to use. Types of glaze: matte, glossy, transparent, colored. Glaze application methods: brush, dip, spray. Effects and decoration: creating patterns, texturing, using oxides and pigments.

Stage 6: Final firing – fixing the result: After glazing, the product is sent for a second firing at a temperature of 1200–1300°C. At this point, it acquires its final strength, the glaze melts and turns into a smooth coating.

Stage 7: Completion and joy from the result: After the final firing, your product is completely ready! It can become a home decoration, a functional item, or a special gift made with your own hands.

Join us and go all the way from an idea to a finished product created with your own hands!
